Ashley Cuevas - Girls Inc. of Long Island

Ashley Cuevas currently serves as the Program Coordinator of Girls Inc. Of Long Island after being promoted from Program Facilitator. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree from The State University of New York College at Buffalo with a degree in Leadership and Creative Studies. Ashley’s passion for the youth started early in her undergraduate years as she spent her summer breaks working at the YMCA as a camp counselor for elementary students. Her role consisted of day-to-day lesson planning, field trip coordination, and social/emotional support. Working with the youth has always been her passion and every opportunity she got to enhance her knowledge in this area she took.

Right before graduating from her college, she was granted a summer position as a Resident Advisor for a program called Summerfuel at Columbia University. Her time as a Resident Advisor allowed her to cultivate hands-on programs for international students while guiding them as a mentor throughout the summer. After her time at Summerfuel, she knew she wanted to get started on her career, and the only direction she was looking towards was being able to continue to work with the youth. Her experiences led her to find Girls Inc. Of Long Island, where she has the opportunity every day to direct her passion towards the girls of our future!
