Saskia Monteiro Thomson serves as the Executive Director for the National Kidney Foundation, Greater NY and CT market. Prior, Saskia served on the executive leadership teams of Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club, Planned Parenthood of Greater NY, the Tourette Association of America, and the YMCA of Long Island. Her experience also includes 15 years in the private sector, during which she built a full-service in-house marketing agency and honed her skills in media relations, public speaking, writing, and graphic design.

Saskia is also an occasional storyteller for “Now You’re Talking,” — a live show featuring true stories told by real people— and has coached professionals in the art and craft of telling compelling and authentic mission-driven stories. She earned her Bachelors of Arts at Cornell University, a certificate from Cornell University in Financial Success for Nonprofits, and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). In addition to serving on the board of Girls Inc. of Long Island, she also serves on the board of the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Long Island.

Saskia holds dual citizenship (the United States and Brazil), and speaks Portuguese fluently.
