Director of Philanthropy, Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club

Saskia Monteiro Thomson is the Director of Philanthropy for Grenville Baker Boys & Girls Club (the Club), located in Locust Valley, NY. Prior to joining the Club, Saskia served on the executive leadership teams of Planned Parenthood of Nassau County (now PP of Greater NY), the Tourette Association of America, as the VP of National Marketing, and the YMCA of Long Island, as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Her experience also includes 15 years in the private sector, during which she built a full-service in-house marketing agency and honed her skills media relations, public speaking, writing, and graphic design.
Saskia is also an occasional storyteller for “Now You’re Talking,” — a live show featuring true stories told by real people— and has coached professionals in the art and craft of telling compelling and authentic mission-driven stories. She earned her Bachelors of Arts at Cornell University, a certificate from Cornell University in Financial Success for Nonprofits, and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Saskia is also a member of board of Girls Inc. of Long Island and the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Long Island.
Saskia holds dual citizenship (the United States and Brazil), and speaks Portuguese fluently.
