Vice President, Individual Giving & Events, Planned Parenthood of Greater New York

Saskia Monteiro Thomson is the Vice President of Development for Planned Parenthood of Greater New York. For the past three years, she headed up the fundraising and marketing functions for the organization in Nassau County, and is now focusing on Individual Giving and Events. Prior to joining Planned Parenthood, Saskia served on the executive leadership teams of the Tourette Association of America, as the VP of National Marketing, and the YMCA of Long Island, as the Director of Marketing and Communications. Her experience also includes 15 years in the private sector, during which she built a full-service in-house marketing agency and honed her skills media relations, public speaking, writing, and graphic design.

Saskia is also an occasional storyteller for “Now You’re Talking,” — a live show featuring true stories told by real people— and has coached professionals in the art and craft of telling compelling and authentic mission-driven stories. She earned her Bachelors of Arts at Cornell University, a certificate from Cornell University in Financial Success for Nonprofits, and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). Saskia is also a member of board of Girls Inc. of Long Island and the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Long Island.

Saskia holds dual citizenship (the United States and Brazil), and speaks Portuguese fluently.
