Women are still under-represented in STEM fields, but Girls Inc. of Long Island is working hard to change that through our extensive summer STEM opportunities for girls across Long Island. This July, our girls spent 1 week at Hofstra University and 2 1/2 weeks at Brookhaven National Laboratory learning environmental science, coding and computing, astrophysics, and more. From building a solar city, to observing the sun through a telescope, to drawing with code- they did it all! The camps also included Girls Inc. signature programming and even comic book creation. Girls heard from inspiring panelists about their careers in STEM, ran experiments, problem-solved, wrote stories, learned new skills, explored technology, and most importantly, empowered one another to be STRONG, SMART, & BOLD!
Check out some of the memorable moments below!

Stay tuned for our Summer 2020 Camps!
