Energy In Action I, Grades 7-9. To meet the world’s growing energy needs, researchers at Brookhaven Lab are developing groundbreaking and game-changing technologies to establish new, efficient, and sustainable energy sources. In this camp students will become familiar with basic electrical circuits and the science behind alternative sources of energy. Girls will work in teams to design, construct, and troubleshoot off-the-grid, model housing designs. Program led by Brookhaven National Laboratory Staff and Girls Inc. of Long Island Staff.
Show Me the Money, Grades 9-12. In this money-focused camp, high school girls will discover how to: earn money while they sleep, earn a million dollars, and create a spending plan to reach goals. Girls will invest in the stock market – using a simulator – with real-time data to invest in companies that align with their values (ie: environment, animals, women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights). One day of this camp is anticipated to be an off-site field trip. Program led by Girls Inc. of Long Island Staff.
Money, Money, Dolla Bills!, Grades 6-8.
